Elizabeth Evert experiments with paints and pastels to recreate the vivid sensations of experiencing nature in all its complexity. Be it a sublime view of the African plains to a lush, over-ripened vegetable garden, for over two decades, her work has been inspired by her travels abroad and the world in her own backyard.

Born in Evanston, Illinois in 1967, Evert was raised on the North Shore of Chicago, Geneva, Switzerland, Bryn Mawr, PA, and Birmingham, AL. She has a Master’s degree from Columbia University in Art and Art Education in addition to an undergraduate degree from Emory University including study abroad at the University of Sienna and Fortman Art Studios in Florence, Italy.

Evert started exhibiting in the 1990s. Her work has been the subject of several exhibitions including solo shows at the Speer Gallery, Bryn Mawr, PA, (2005, 2010), the Macy Gallery, Columbia University, NY, (1995) the Restaurant Association at the Philadelphia Museum of Art (2000), and a group show at Hoorn-Ashby Gallery, New York, NY (2000).

Evert’s representation has included Marianne Friedland Gallery, Naples, FL starting in 1991, the Carmine Winters Corporate Art & Acquisitions, Philadelphia, PA and the William Beadleston Gallery, New York, NY.
